List of liveboards

On this page, the following topics are covered:

Working with Liveboards

A Liveboard shows selected marketing data in charts, tables, and KPI visualisations. When the underlying data is refreshed, the results in the Liveboard are updated as well.

Liveboards include several useful features for reviewing, sharing, and analysing data:

  • Filters: focus the Liveboard on a specific subset of data.
  • Change analysis: understand why metrics shift over time.
  • AI Highlights: Identifies notable trends and changes.
  • Share: share the Liveboard with colleagues.
  • Download: download data or visualisations.
  • Present: display the Liveboard in presentation mode.

How to use filters?

Filters allow you to focus the data shown in a Liveboard. Instead of viewing all available data, you can narrow the results to a specific date range, campaign, group, product, or another available filter.

Liveboard filters

When a filter is applied, all relevant visualisations on the Liveboard update automatically. This makes it easier to compare results consistently across multiple charts and tables.

Common filters include:

  • Date: analyse performance for a selected period or custom date range.
  • Campaign: measure campaign performance, compare campaigns, or investigate unusual results.
  • Group: analyse activity for a specific audience or mailing list.
  • Product: focus reporting on a specific Spotler product.
  • Currency: view revenue-related metrics in the selected currency.

Within every filter it is possible to include or exclude a specific value.

Liveboard exclude campaign filter

When exploring a Liveboard, start without filters, review the overall trends, apply a date filter, apply a campaign filter, and compare the filtered results with the overall performance.

Change Analysis helps you understand why metrics shift over time. You can use Change Analysis to investigate performance changes, such as a decrease in open-to-click ratio or a change in conversion performance.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get started with the Liveboards?

We recommend starting with the predefined Liveboards provided by Spotler. These are ready to use and give you immediate insight into your email performance. We provide a step by step guide to get you started.

What do terms like Product, Group, and Activity Kind mean?

Every metric and attribute in Analytics has a description. Hover over a field name or click the info icon to see its explanation. Product refers to the contact product name of the business entity that the data belongs to. Group indicates the business entity name that the data belongs to. Activity Kind shows the type of message in the relevant mail product.

Can I compare different time periods, like I am used to in Google Analytics?

Yes. Use the Activity Date filter on any Liveboard. You can choose from rolling or fixed periods and group your data by week, month, quarter, or year. For example, select Last Month and compare it with the previous month to see trends over time.

Why do the filters not show which values I have selected?

When you first open a Liveboard, all values in a filter are selected by default. This is not visually highlighted in the filter bar.

Why do I see {null} in some filters or data fields?

A {null} value is shown as one of the fields by default. This does not automatically mean that data is missing. {null} is also shown when a value for a field is missing.

Can I create or import trend reports, like I have in Mail+?

There is no direct import of trend reports from Mail+. To analyse trends, select multiple campaigns on the Email Engagement Liveboard and compare their performance over time using the date filters.

Can I separate automation messages from regular mailings in my reports?

Yes. Use the Activity Kind attribute to filter or group by message type. It distinguishes between mailings, automations, and external API-based sends, so you can analyse each type separately.
